Rush, Fly By Night

£60.00

The second album by Canadian prog rock legends Rush was their first to feature drummer Neil Paert behind the kit. Quickly finding himself promoted to lyricist, Fly By Night’s title track was named after one of the earliest lyrics that he wrote for the group: a song that drew upon Paert’s brief time as a musician in London, before he returned to Canada to join Rush. When it came time to pick the album’s artwork, bird-lover Paert remembered a painting that he’d seen as a child, of a snowy owl in mid-swoop, and described the concept down the phone to Chicago-based painter Eraldo Carugati. Carrugati would later go on to paint the individual artworks for the four solo KISS albums released in 1978.
